A prophecy that became a church

"The Church is in this House!"

— Mother Shirley Virginia Echols

In November of 1979, the Lord inspired the then-Elder Jerome S. Wilcox to establish a work for Him. Within a week, God proved Himself to His manservant by allowing him to procure the Mt. Ararat Primitive Baptist Church.

But before the church's inception, Elder Wilcox's mother — Mother Shirley Virginia Echols — was led by God to pray for his ministry. After prayer, she prophesied: "The Church is in this House!"

Over four decades later, that prophecy still stands. Through anointed preaching, aggressive outreach, and the moving of the Holy Spirit — countless families have been lifted in Trenton and beyond.

A Word from the Bishop

Bishop Jerome Wilcox.

Bishop Jerome Wilcox has shepherded Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries from its founding in 1979 — when it was a fledgling work in the building once known as Mt. Ararat Primitive Baptist Church — into the thriving, anointed congregation it is today. He is known throughout the region as a renowned anointed gospel preacher whose ministry has lifted countless families across the Trenton community.

"I am so glad that you took the opportunity to stop in and visit us. I pray that your life will be dramatically impacted by the ministry within these pages. It's a great opportunity to spread the Word to those you love. Christ is our message and souls are our mission."

Our Affirmation of Faith

What We Believe.

The Word of God is the foundation. Everything we preach, every prayer we lift, every soul we win — anchored in these nine truths.

I

The Bible — We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

II

The Trinity — We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

III

The Deity of Christ — We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary, in His miracles, in His atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and intercession.

IV

Salvation — The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance, faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and being baptized in water.

V

Regeneration — We believe regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

VI

Divine Healing — We believe the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the body in answer to believing prayer.

VII

Baptism in the Holy Ghost — According to Acts 2:4, given to believers who ask for it.

VIII

Sanctifying Power — By whose indwelling, the Christian is able to live a holy, sanctified life in this world.

IX

The Blessed Hope — The rapture of the Church of God which is in Christ, at His return.
